ISBRA/RSA 2020 Conference Postponed Until June, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas, USA!
Additional information will be sent as details are solidified!

Dear ISBRA Members,

The RSA and ISBRA leaderships have been closely tracking the impact of COVID-19 on the world. As the safety of our participants / attendees is our utmost concern, it has become apparent that cancelling the RSA/ISBRA-2020 conference is our only option. It saddens us that, for the first time in its history, RSA and ISBRA will not be able to bring alcohol researchers together to share their knowledge and to network with their national and international colleagues.

Due to this unprecedented world-wide health crisis, the Hyatt Regency New Orleans has agreed to not contest our cancellation of the contract. This will allow us to move forward without concerns for financial costs pertaining to the cancellation. To keep our relationship with the Hyatt strong we will be signing an addendum to the current contract moving the dates to a similar week in June, 2025.

We are pleased to announce that the RSA and ISBRA leadership have indicated the desire to have the 2021 conference in San Antonio be a joint meeting – RSA/ISBRA-2021! Additionally, offerings proposed below, with the exception of poster abstracts. Below are the offerings that we are proposing:

We are working through specifics, for now please note the following:

In closing, we want everyone to know that foremost in our decision was the uncertainty of the timeline for the viral pandemic and the eventual recovery of our respective countries, as well as the safety and wellbeing of not only our meeting participants and staff, but also their families and colleagues. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely and Be Safe Wishes!

Tamara Phillips, Ph.D., ISBRA President
Debra Sharp, RSA Director
