ISBRA 2022 Diversity Award

ISBRA/ESBRA 2022 Congress in Cracow, Poland, September 17-20, 2022

Underrepresented ISBRA trainees/students (UNIT)

ISBRA has created a new fund aimed at supporting underrepresented students working in alcohol research to provide fair opportunity for ISBRA trainees/students from developing countries. The award would consist of a waiver for the congress registration fees and up to US$2000 to support travel/accommodation. Specifically, these funds will be used to promote the participation of students belonging to underrepresented groups at the biennial ISBRA meeting and to create a grant program to partially cover the expenses associated with a visit to a lab of choice (from a list of available labs) in the metropolitan area of the congress for a week, before or after the meeting.

The purpose is to encourage students from underrepresented communities to disseminate their research at an international congress and help them network with principal investigators, collaborators, and institutions on biomedical alcohol research.

The fund has been seeded by an initial contribution of US$500 from ISBRA funds, and donations are most welcome at this donation link. This program will only be possible with your help!
